My iPhone 6s has no SIM and i don’t have one that will work with it. It is currently running IOS 11.0.3 and Im scared to update to IOS 11.2.5 as i don’t know if I need a SIM to activate it after updating. After i restored it originally, I needed to borrow a SIM from a friend to use and set up the phone. Thanks.
Often, an iPhone will refuse to function in there is no SIM present. … In this case, yes, you can update the iPhone over Wifi. However, if the phone is not activated, and you have not configured it, the phone will refuse to move forward in the configuration process without the SIM card.
