Hi! As you suggested, you should start by replacing the battery. If that solves the problem, then you have nothing to worry about. Laptop manufacturers usually design the batteries for their devices so that the same model of battery works with more than 1 product (this helps keep costs down and is fairly nature-friendly), so you will never find a battery that works with exactly (and soley) your laptop model. I suggest testing a different charger before spending 60$ on a new battery.

This sounds like a faulty battery, I’m almost sure it’s a bad battery.

Simple way to find out: Do you have a light on the charger when you’re plugged in? If yes, it’s the battery If not, it’s either your DC-IN jack, the charger, or the charging IC and/or related parts on your motherboard. But… it’s going to be your battery.
