Do I need a fix kit to change the battery
Hi, Here’s a link to the ifixit iPhone 6 Plus Battery Replacement guide. In the guide you’ll find a list of all the tools necessary to remove and replace the battery. If you hover the mouse cursor over the tool “link” you will get information regarding how much the tool costs, if purchased from ifixit.
To answer your question, no you do not need to buy a fix kit in order to replace the battery. You should only buy the fix kit if you do not have the proper tools to replace the battery. The difference between the fix kit and the part only options are that the fix kit includes every tool and part you need in order to carry out a battery replacement, and the part only includes… well, the battery part only. If you do not have the proper tools to replace the battery I highly suggest that you buy the fix kit. Not having the right tool for the job when you are right in the middle of disassembling a phone/computer/etc. is no fun, spare yourself the frustration! If you do indeed have the right tools for the job that are listed below, then it doesn’t matter as much if you don’t buy the fix kit. Buy the part only instead.
