I have a 2006-2007 2.0 core 2 duo Macbook (A1181) I’m trying to figure out if it has a “Mini DVI” or a “Mini Display” port on the side, I have seen both on various sites including Best Buy and the Apple store. Is there even a difference? Will a “Mini Display Port to HDMI” adapter (such as this one http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=…) work for me?
All MacBook A1181s have MiniDVI ports. The newer, unibody aluminum or plastic MacBooks have Mini-Displayport connectors. Physically, the Mini-Displayport connector is quite a bit smaller, so the cables are not interchangeable. This cable will work with your laptop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…
