I have an early 2011 Apple MacBook Pro 15". Battery is good but was having problems with power adapter running hot when charging while machine was turned on or at sleep. If shutdown then charging would occur normally and charger stayed cool. Today when I plugged in machine while working the magsafe light on adapter stays green (never turns orange) to charge. Will not charge when shut down either. Tried second power adapter same result. Early symptom indicated bad inboard DC magsafe unit but not sure now that it will not charge at all.
Let’s check the battery first and see what it’s drawing. I’d like you to download, install and run Coconut Battery. Please post an image of your results. Please do it first without the mag-safe adapter plugged in, post. The run with the mag-safe in and post. Thanks
