Cause of Fault: Unknown Fault: Phone powers on, can hear startup tones, and it vibrates. Screen stays black. No Samsung logo, no activity. I used #0 phillips and guitar pick to disassemble device and checked all connections for connectivity and corrosion. I noticed no corrosion and water damage indicators look good. I cleaned Motherboard and connections with some isopropyl and used a soft paint brush to clean. I AM LOST and hope I don’t have to purchase another display assembly. Any advice appreciated and if new display is needed can anyone link the cheapest source for parts? Thanks, Tyler.

The cheapest parts are usually the most expensive. Many times cheap parts fail and I have to buy the part and repeat the repair all over again. To my knowledge, you need to turn on the screen assembly to visually inspect the LCD and to manually test the entire digitizer area for dead spots or lines. I believe you have a dead screen. As you said, best way to tell is to try someone’s known good screen on you phone.

Hello 99% sure you need a new screen
