Hi, today my water bottle (soda) accidentally leak in my school bag so my two devices “TI Nspire CX CAS” and my “Casio Ex Word EW g560c” get wet. The main problem is the TI Nspire because I need it for school. The screen now looks like that: http://m.imgur.com/Nq8Qmk8,9B3z63D It seems that there’s water behind the screen. Currently I’ve put the TI into rice, so it might hopefully dry. What do you think? Might the screen get normal again? If not what would be the best way to fix it? As far as I know the display is easily removable, but where to get a new one or how much will a repair cost? Does anybody have an idea?
Waishon, The rice will have done very little if anything to save your device. Stop charging or powering up your device until the liquid damage is addressed correctly, as you could be shorting out components inside the calculator. You really should take care of the corrosion ASAP that is happening inside the phone from the liquid damage as that could be your problem. A tear down link for your device Link #1 and 2, disassembly guide will enable you to get inside the device to remove the damage/corrosion caused by the liquid. Use the 3rd link as a guide/instruction on how to clean/repair the device from liquid damage. After this you will be able to power on the device and see if further damage has to be addressed. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. Hi Waishon, Clean it with 91% isopropyl alcohol with soft bristle toothbrush, followed by letting the board and parts dry then put it back together and let me know how it goes. You should wear gloves throughout the whole process.
So after I put the TI about 1 week into rice the water below the display drys and the screen is now perfectly clear again. So everybody who has such a water damage. Wait a week put it in rice and relax :D Then it might work again.
