MacBook Pro/Powerbook (15/2.33/2G/120/256VRAM/SD-DL) Part Numner MA610LL/A Suddenly the display screen is dark. when I try to see if anything is displayed with flash light I can se faint display. sometime when I took the battery out and put it again it did display but now it is totally dark. Apple genius bar says’ The lcd backlit is not working and need to replace it. Other computer repair shop says we will either have to replace the lcd or invertor. Any suggestion or help will be highly appreciated..
If you can see faint images with a flashlight, it your inverter cable or inverter board. Look here under the repair icon at the top of this page and look for the exact model you have and look for a display repair guide.
