After a battery replacement, everything seemed to be working until about a minute into powering the phone back on when I got a Touch ID not working alert. Upond dissasembly a found a completely torn ribbon cable from the display screen. I have circled the ribbon in the photo attached. The shorter cable that I circled has ripped off. I am assuming this is the reason the touch ID is not working. Would this torn ribbon relate to the Touch ID? Or could this be a different issue and something else could be causing the Touch ID to not be working?
Hi I cannot confirm this however I do know that the touch is sensor plugs straight into the display so if one cable is ripped I would imaging that that is the cable that the Touch ID would go through to the iPhone If you have a spare display handy I would try it out and make sure everything still works Hopefully this answers your question Sorry I cannot confirm it as I don’t have a iPhone 7 to try it out on Thanks:)
