Hello, After an attempt of repairing a sound socket on my Toshiba Satellite C850-D2K, the display won’t turn on. Before I replaced the socket by myself successfully, but this time it was just destroyed during an attempt to restore the contacts. So, I removed it. After that the display has not turned ON anymore. I tried another RAM, all simple solutions like connecting laptop to a remote display, pressing shift+F something, replacing the battery, pushing buttons, removing the bios battery, vacuum cleaning the machine, etc.
Hi, Did you do the audio socket repair with the laptop battery still plugged in? Have you tried removing the battery and the charger, pressing the power button for 10 seconds, connecting the charger only (leave the battery out at this stage) and starting the laptop? If it starts OK with screen display, allow it to boot all the way to the Windows desktop then shut it down in the normal manner. When it has fully shutdown, turn off the charger, reconnect the battery, turn on the charger and turn on the laptop. Let it boot all the way to the Windows desktop. Check the charge state of the battery. If it is charging allow it to fully charge before disconnecting the charger.
