Chosen Solution
After dropping my phone on the floor without a case, the screen (amoled) does not turn on and stays black. The only visible damage is a small dent on the metal frame in the lower left corner (from the front) and cracks on the glass screen protector. I tested the power button and the touchscreen, both are in working condition. However, nothing displays on the phone’s screen even though something is supposed to be showing (I outputted the display to my computer). I tried knocking and pressing the corners of the phone in case something is loose. Is there anything I can do?
It’s entirely possible that you knocked the ribbon cable for the screen loose… Unfortunately, without taking the phone apart, it’s difficult to say for sure. If you look at images for replacement screens, you can see that there is only one ribbon cable that leads to the screen (presumably for power/fingerprint scanner)
