Hi, I started up my macbook recently and as it started up, horizontal lines appeared. Soon, these lines spread over the whole screen and slowly the screen dimmed till all the screen was black. On repeated attempts to restart the computer, as soon as I turn it on, the lines appear but quickly dim to black. I connected to an external monitor and it displays of the separate monitor perfectly. Does this mean the LCD is defective or could it be a graphics card issue? I have checked the cable connections and they seem fine and undamaged. Any answers are appreciated!
This is a display problem since the external works. I know you probably don’t have a spare but when you get a new one in, you can disconnect the old one and hook up the new one without removing the old display to insure that your efforts will work.
