My backlight stoped working and i found out that the iphone 3g has no 6r8 coil so do i change the lcd ?
simple answer is yes, if you are sure that it isn’t a loose connection, dirt or damage. I’d try a hard reset..press home and power together for 10 seconds, the apple should appear then allow to reboot…far cheaper and usually works. The other thing to try if this has happened after you have opened the phone is to take the motherboard back off the battery for an hour or 2 then replace. New LCD is the last resort .
