Chosen Solution

Hey guys, I have been having issues with the display, battery & keyboard. The display works till about 30 degrees open, further opening makes lights appear from the bottom and opening it fully makes the display go blank. It mimics the fluxgate issue. Unfortunately it isn’t covered under the display replacement program upon checking the serial number. What must I do? The battery has around 362 cycles in close to 3 years and I have the service battery indicator warning too. Been using the apple charger and cord from day one. Any solutions? Also, the left shift key works intermittently, this I think Is covered under the keyboard replacement program but seeing the whole set of defects on my machine, I don’t think they would accept my laptop into repair. Are any other users of this model experiencing the same issues? or have been unlucky enough to get a lemon. Any help is appreciated. thanks.

I would still visit an Apple Store as the serial number checker is not reliable! Clearly from your description you have a failed ribbon cable which needs replacing via the warranty program. Ask for a warranty exception, be polite if the genius doesn’t agree, ask to speak to the service manager and then the next higher until they give you some level of relief. Even if you can just get the keyboard issue fixed (focus on that) as they then get on the hook for the rest, new battery and hopefully a new display too!
