I have a situation where my Mac Book powers up (I can here it chime) but nothing displays. I’ve tried all the tricks to reset the computer but nothing. The external display doesn’t work either. I am pretty sure the problem is to do with damage on what I think is called the LCD connector. The connector coming from the display has some damaged pins. I see you can buy the complete new assembly: MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Mid 2012-Early 2013) Display Assembly What I really want is just the cable (it’s the pin on the left side of the image in the above link that I think is the problem). Can you buy this part separately and replace it on a display or are you left with having the expense of replacing the entire display. Thought I’d ask this here … seeing that there is lots of good answers on this site! Thanks.
First take it in and have the logic board tested at an ASP for this recall program: https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro… ignore the check your coverage link!
