Hello ifixit, Today as I was working something happened. I had turned the display brightness to 100% for about 5 mins or so when the light suddenly went out. I tried to connect an external monitor and it was working. Then I took a flashlight and pointed it directly to the display.I found that the display is OK, but the lights were still out. The Apple logo on the lid was off as well. I was very upset and I left it like that wondering what could be done and was gone for about 10 mins or so. When I came back , lo and behold … the light had come back on . However, now I fear that it might happen again! So what do you think, what could be the problem, the inverter board or the display CCFL? I stay in India, hence if I have to order for a component, and if it is not the faulty one, chances are less that I would get to return it back and order the correct component. So please help me, ifixit … I know you are the only one who actually could do so … Many thanks in advance, Nirmalya .

Since you could see the desktop with a flashlight, I would suspect the inverter board. You might want to keep one on hand in case it goes out under load again.
