I just did a diskpart clean during windows install and i accidentally wiped all the drives and when i restarted the pc it said ‘operating system not found’ seems like i have wiped off the OS as well. Though, i have backed up all my data on a 500 gb external hard drive some time back. Can i install the OS from the external drive (on which i have backed up data)? If yes then what’s the procedure to do that?

This is possible if you cloned the drive . If you just backed up your data that does not include the OS then no you cannot. You will need to reinstall a new OS . You must have realized that when you run the diskpart command in the command line it formats the drive tis is to prepare for a fresh windows install. Did you kill the recovery partition as well?
