My iphone 6s screen went black, but it was cracked very significantly. The digitizer still worked and I knew this because I could still enter my password, and turn on the flashlight of course off of my memory because I could not see the screen. So, I replaced my screen, and of course the screen once again was black yet the digitizer worked perfectly fine. Could this be a problem with the connection on the actual iphones motherboard itself? It’s confusing to me because the lcd and digitizer are connected with the same ribbon cable.
Seems to me you have a backlight issue. If you shine a torch on it the screen you should see an image. The backlight problem will be on the motherboard and would need to be repaired by a reputable repair shop that offers microsoldering.
