Bought a “parts phone" off of someone on letgo. It looks like it’s in great shape but it wouldn’t power on or give any screen response. I open it up to discover a flare mark over where the SIM card slot is towards the battery. To me it looks like it just shorted out. Do I just need to swap out for a new SIM reader?
Great shape ? Not really, all liquid ingress marks have been triggered, see the red indicators ? those should be white…try removing EMI shields to check board conditions before wasting any time and/or money in repairs.
