Hi, i was tring to learn how to replace parts with my old iphone 5 which didn’t charge anymore. I brought it a long time ago to an awful service which broke my screen frame so it was so difficult to make the fix. With my phone turned off i forgot to unplug the battery and i removed the screen. When I put the screen back i noticed that the charging port was working but i made a damage to the screen: the backlight turns on but the screen doesn’t work. i think i found the problem but my question is: changing the screen is enough to be sure it will work again? Here i added a photo of what i presume is the damage responsable for my problem (a little cut in the screen wire).
That cut is likely why you don’t have any display anymore. It’s also possible that you have no display because you didn’t disconnect the battery first. Either way, a replacement screen should get you back into business. iPhone 5 Screen Replacement iPhone 5 Screen
