Chosen Solution
I have an old 2nd Gen Ipod Shuffle. It charges, connects and plays perfectly still. Although, after 5-6 hours of playing it will shut down mid song and flash red several times, followed by no light and a dead Ipod. After waiting a few hours without recharging it will play normally. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Nick
It could be your battery is going bad or the sensor related to the battery. According to Apple, the flashing red light does mean that you have less than 25% power remaining. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204428
