At start my MacBook Pro mid 13 2010 was not charging. Removing the battery cable then connecting again was solving the problem. After I let the battery run out the MacBook doesn’t turn on anymore. When I press the battery indicator button, the light blink a few times. Already tried resetting SMC/PRAM, checking the keyboard cable. My question is it a battery problem or a dc board or motherboard problem? Shouldn’t the MacBook Pro turn on without a battery?
Yes, it should turn on regardless the battery, unless battery is internally shorted and it’s still connected to the logic board, in which case it might cause troubles to the whole system. Do you get a green light at all on the magsafe ? If not, a known working magsafe should be tried as first troubleshooting step.
If your computer doesn’t turn on with the power adapter in, that is either a sign of a bad DC In or a bad logic board. I would try replacing the DC in / I/O Board first. MacBook Pro Unibody 13" and 15" MagSafe DC-In Board MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2010 DC-In Board Replacement
