My friend smashed her iPhone screen, not too bad and the LCD underneath was untouched. She then says about 3 weeks later it stopped charging and wouldn’t turn on. I’ve replaced the screen, plugged in (but not swapped) a new battery and charging circuitry. Plugged into a laptop and mains charger for a few hours, still no sign of life. Does anybody have any ideas.

It could be possible that you have a bad battey if you are able to test the battery voltage with a multimeter that would be a start, if the battery is below 3.7v then it could be battery i would also test voltage on original battey to see if it was totally dead if so your Hydrta Ic may have failed and would need to be replaced by someone that can do board repairs. Also considering the drop the device may have a spontaneous short preventing the phone from powering on and or charging, this can be confirmed via multimeter or DCPS
