Chosen Solution

I have carefully replaced the lightning port with headphone jack as described in the procedure. The phone is dead now and I cannot get any response at all. I have taken it apart several times and double checked the battery connection, the display connections and the lightning port connector, but it is still completely unresponsive. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

First and foremost, why did you need to replace the dock connector? And was your iPhone previously liquid damaged, previously repaired, or hard dropped? Second, undoing what you did: disconnect the lightning connector that you installed (disconnect, no need to remove just yet), connect battery, and try to turn the phone on. If it works, you have a bad part. Third, trouble shooting: try to connect your iPhone to your computer. Is it detected by iTunes? 1-A/ If yes, and it is waiting for you to “trust” or unlock, then your iPhone is ok but you have no image or no backlight. You could’ve ruined the screen or the backlight circuit, or the image circuit (broke the connector or burnt a filter or caused long screw damage by using the wrong screw in the wrong hole for the metal plate that holds the screen connectors). Send for repair to microsoldering tech. 1-B/ If the iPhone is detected in iTunes in restore mode, you also may have long screw damage, or your data got corrupted. You can try to hard reboot to see if it comes out of DFU mode (press and hold Power Button + Home Button till you see it restart. It takes about 10-15 seconds. If nothing happens, it is stuck in DFU). You can also try to restore, but your data will be gone. If it is long screw damage, send to micro soldering tech. 2/ If the phone is not detected by iTunes as per the above, the board is “dead.” It could be fixable by a micro soldering technician, depending on the damage.
