Is there any way to get data from a sim card by inserting the sim card into a different iPhone? My friend passed away last year. I don’t care about the phone itself, I’d just like access to the photos. No, she didn’t backup with iTunes or on the iCloud. I’ve tried every password I can think of to open the phone, but it’s now disabled. I understand it’s possible to reset the phone, but that would destroy the photos in the process. Help?

This is somewhat complicated. If the phones operating system has been updated to 8.1.1 or later it is unrecoverable. If the system is prior to that it can be recovered. Now the legalities, you will need written, notified permission from a parent or guardian, and copy of the death certificate. I work with a company that can do a .jpg only recovery at reduced cost. They will do a free evaluation, send you a FedEx box. Costs run from about $700 to $1300. If you are interested, click on my icon and email me for the details.

Data recovery from a SIM card is impossible. You need to find a way to get their email and password. That would be the way to get the information

There is no data on the SIM card, pointless.
