So I assumed touch ID would work as well (it’s the original home button of course). I’ve never experienced this before. In the past it’s always worked or it hasn’t - or maybe sometimes the touch ID worked but the haptics didn’t which usually turned out to be a bad flex on the replacement screen....

Chosen Solution 1800 E Sports Coupe There is a transmission “snatch” (jerking) when driving slowly, usually in the higher gear ratios, accompanied by a knock when decelarating. It normally happens during gear changing, but disappears when driving normally in top gear I have checked the driveline and all propshaft bolts are tight and there is no “play” in any of the universal joints. Transmission rubber mountings are sound. With the wheels on the ground, I can detect about 1/4 inch of free-play when I turn the propshaft in either direction....

The ground wire near the L section of the magsafe adapter was broken so i kinda opened it up to connect it again… The thing is that i found a small circuit inside that helps in lighting the LED. While i was opening i cut the circuit by mistake and so i removed the LED indicators from both the sides… In short my adapter only has the +ve and -ve connections… Now whenever i connect it to my laptop, I get the supply from the adapter but it doesn’t charge my battery (battery status-“not charging”) because the charge control pin is not connected to anything… Can anyone tell me what to do or how to connect the charge control pin so that it starts charging my battery again?...

Chosen Solution I’m trying to use the headset jack without the laptop speakers on so I can listen without bothering anyone around. I thought the speaker would mute when I plugged in the headset, but it doesn’t. Hi @randgwynne, Do you get audio in both the speakers and the earphones at the same time? Are you getting a notification when the headphones are being plugged in? When a set of earphones are plugged into the socket usually a signal is sent to the audio controller which should switch the audio to the speaker off....
Chosen Solution Hi Im hoping to gain a little more insight into a problem thats just occurred with my mid 2014 13inch MacBook pro. The system was not received any impact or spillage that I’m aware of and the issue just started this morning. The symptoms: Display is just black!The machine boots, backlight appears to come on along with keyboard lights etc and system chimes.I tried a bunch of things including reseting NVM and SMC (although on second thoughts i may retry the SMC incase i messed up the sequence....
Chosen Solution When I open my laptop’s lid beyond a point (say approx 90 degrees), the display turns off while the programs are still running. This problem initially started at more than 120 degrees (which was not affecting me much). But it deteriorated gradually to around 90 degrees now. The problem is consistent (happens at any time of the day and usage). Currently using the laptop by not opening it beyond 90 degrees and adjusting my seat....

Chosen Solution Macbook Air Late 2010: Trackpad. The mechanics of the trackpad only work correctly when pressed on the bottom right corner (it goes down and back up as expected). The bottom left corner is permanently depressed and cannot be pressed or clicked. I am not sure if I need an entire new trackpad or if the issue can be corrected by replacing a part, such as the brackets and screws that iFixit sells....

Chosen Solution Will buy a 27” Cinema Display, but it has the VESA mount (doesn’t have stand), but I do have a stand from the 24” model, so, can anyone advise if I can install it on the 27” version? It will look quite odd! The stand will have the display at a lower point, likely scraping the bottom edge! You really want to get either a VESA mount stand or replace the stand with the correct one....

Chosen Solution I have a Murray riding mower model 46503X8. I depress the clutch brake pedal to start the engine. The engine starts easily and runs when the brake/clutch switch is depressed. If I release the brake/clutch switch the engine shuts down. I replaced the brake /clutch switch and the pto switch, but the problem did not go away. I did the following test. With the engine running and the brake /clutch switch depress, I engaged the cutting blades (pto switch) and the engine shuts down....
Chosen Solution I have an Epson Artisan 837 all in one. It was working perfectly fine yesterday. Today it is telling me I have a paper jam. I went through the steps it told me to take 3 times. There is no paper jammed anywhere! Each time I finish the steps and turn it back on, it makes a grinding sound, then I get the same paper jam error message. Chosen Solution Currently running Windows 10 on an ASRock B450M/ac left for the weekend to attend a bachelor party and returned to no Ethernet connection. The device was hidden in device manager, I checked for driver updates, nothing. So I uninstalled the driver and nothing popped back up in its place upon reboot. Strange…. so I checked and sure enough there was a windows update that ran the day after I left....

If it hadn’t worked we would have checked for another cause as suggested in the IFIXIT....
