Dropped it in the pool and when I tried to turn it off, it turned out it was already off, so I accidentally turned it on instead and it frizzed out pretty quick. A new moto z ranges from $200-$400. Would trying to replace the parts in the phone myself be cheaper than buying a new one? I really like the moto z so I’d like to continue using it....

Hi, Seems as though you have a faulty start button, not making good electrical contact. You may not be able to conclusively prove this though, by trying to test the button for continuity with an Ohmmeter because it may be in a sealed panel and also possibly it could be like a computer keyboard and there is a matrix arrangement which identifies the key....
Chosen Solution After changing the language settings so that I could type in Japanese etc. when I restarted the computer finder would keep relaunching itself. Any ideas as to why this might happen? Did you use any of the delocalizer programs that are available? You might have removed the language packs. I’d try an archive and install using the original OS disk. Once that is complete, re-apply the updates. Once you’re satisfied everything is working, you’ll need to re-add any printers and delete the Previous Systems folder in the root of the hard drive....
Chosen Solution I’ve been given an iMac G3 which is almost perfect. I’ve put OS 9.2.3 on it which runs fine. The only problem is the blue shell does not light up or glow? Searching the Web I came across a statement that there was a bulb somewhere near the round plastic handle but I can’t see one. Anyone know how to get it glowing again please? For some time now (one year at least) the GPS locating does not work anymore, accuracy in all apps only about 1.5km (= AGPS …) Wi-Fi and all other features are still working. The following so far hasn’t done any changes to this behavior: Restore my iPhone, Erase Content and Settings + Set up as new iPhone, pull out SIM card slightly -> then it says “Cannot determine Location”, even after 2 h waiting period with open view to the sky....
Chosen Solution Normally no problem; recently boots but error notice: “cannot unmount disk; close all applications & files”. I re-installed last update to 10.6.3. Trying to find anything that could be open, deleted some apps, etc. So far, nothing works. Is there a simple way to find any open apps or files I haven’t found? I do have Time Machine set on the ext. Chosen Solution Just curious how to tell on a 3G logic board if it has 8GB or 16GB when it’s not recognized by the computer/tiny umbrella and won’t power on. Check out step 25 of our teardown. The picture there is of the memory. If you can locate that chip and enter the numbers on the IC into a search you should be able to identify the IC and find out its memory....

The left side has a black vertical band and the rest of the screen is white, Customer said the machine was working fine and she woke up to this in the morning. No spills, no drops. It will generate a picture on an external monitor. I know how to make the external monitor the active screen from the original screen but have forgotten if there is a way to do it if you can’t get to the original display @danj can you help on this one?...

The pre-existing adhesive will be thoroughly damaged when you remove the screen. Technically speaking, you don’t need to replace the adhesive, the phone will re-assemble fine and you will not see a difference. Apple was experimenting with the adhesive in preparation for the iPhone 7 which was rated as water-resistant....

Chosen Solution After clean-installation I couldn’t use advanced startup to access UEFI Booting menu instead, I see Startup Setting. Even I can’t access BIOS .I tried all ways with no result. How can I restore the default setting? I got it solved by restoring default setting of BIOS. It’s done by shorting G2101 & G2201 in the motherboard under the RAM card. Thanks all …

A while ago now I started to have to boot the computer using safe boot due to corrupted security permissions, all would work well for abfew weeks then it would need it again. Finally all I started to get was a grey screen on startup. I tried to reinstall OSX from dvd but this resulted in the dvd getting stuck in the drive which after none of the usual and unusual solutions worked led to me having to dismantle the drive....
Chosen Solution My washer has these grounded-up plastic pieces in the pump filter and clothes after washing with our KM Elite HE3t and it knocks. Any suggestions? Chosen Solution I upgraded to a SSD after my stock hard drive failed. After running diagnostics, all hardware works but no HDD is detected at BIOS. Tried reseating it and still no luck. Upgraded to Corsair 120gb SATA 3 SDD. Dells website and phone service both were unable to answer if my device would accept HDD to SSD replacement. Update (04/25/2017) Thank you for your quick response Dan. This SSD is backwards compatible so there is still something awry....
Chosen Solution Old computer and recently it got a thick line going across at the lower part of the screen.Is there a way to fix it?Is it actually the screens problem? Almost certainly a problem with your screen and unlikely to be fixable. Squeezing the screen or bezel along the edges towards the bottom doesn’t make it any better or worse? You can get a replacement screen, but at a silly price....
