Chosen Solution The image on the display of my MacBook Pro A1278 is very dim. I’m not sure but I don’t think that it’s the backlight since the image is visible enough that the laptop can still be used but the screen lighting is very dim. The brightness adjustment on the F1 and F2 keys do nothing when either one of them is held down. The brightness adjustment in the System Preferences doesn’t do a thing to dim or brighten the screen image....

This model has a recall on the video issue. I prefer an Authorized Service Provider for this repair, as Apple has no monetary incentive but the ASP will get paid for replacing the board by Apple....

Thank you Ruben Lopes, that looks very much like a bad LCD. Of course double check the logic board connector. Make sure that there are no bend, broken or otherwise damaged pins.

Chosen Solution I have same issue no power, Breaker OK as other appliances will run from same outlet, I have unpluged overnight and no power persist. Door does not lock. I am having trouble to find answer. The control board looks fine to the eye, no resisters blown no scrch marks either side, Wires all tightly connected. Let us know if you can point us to a cause. Chosen Solution So I just received my upgrade kit today and installed a second 500 gig 5400 rpm HDD I was using in an external USB case. I formatted the drive yesterday and installed it today. If I try and write to the drive I get “The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50).” Under the disc “Get info” permissions are Read & Write for the admin, Read & Write for staff and Read only for everyone....

Chosen Solution I have a 2011 mac mini and went to do the second HD upgrade, and ever since the CPU fan is stuck at full speed. I have tried to reset PRAM and SMC but i cannot tell if they have actually reset, not sure if the sandy bridge based macs use something different. I also ran the “d” diag utility and everything passes. The machine runs fine the fan is just stuck at 100% and its very annoying....

The freezer will only cool to around 60f Fridge will be around 70f The other day we cleaned the coils under the fridge as they were pretty dirty let the fridge sit overnight as we tipped the fridge on it’s side. Chosen Solution Please help. I have a Fridgemaster MTL55300 fridge, bought 5 years ago. Lately, it has become very noisy (sound of compressor running continuously) and is not cooling. The top back wall ices up and the bottom of the fridge is warm. I have cleaned the condenser coils on the back of fridge . I even emptied the fridge and left the door open all day yesterday. Chosen Solution This unit does incomplete boot, its working in Safe mode, but not in normal booting. According to Apple tech support, possible problem are memory, hard drive, logic board replace hard drive. I did replaced accordingly, one by one, but no luck. The last thing I did was replacing the logic board assuming this the end of the problem, however, the problem remain the same. just let you know that OS installation was complete and restart automatically, however booting failed, didn’t go to login screen, the screen remains gray, and no sound or chime....

Chosen Solution I somehow managed to break both of the screen hinges on my MBP 15" 2015 so that the top part is loose and bends too far. However, I got one spare full screen assembly from MBP 13" late 2013. Are those hinges interchangeable? Yes & No! While the hinge its self is the same design the clutch part is different as the 13” weighs less than the 15” so it won’t hold the angle when over 45º and the wires which are threaded through are too short!...

Chosen Solution After washing a blanket my washer made this awful grinding noise as the spin cycle stopped. Thinking it was just strain from a heavy sopping wet blanket I gave it a rest and tried a small load of clothing the next day. To be clear the washer still spins, agitates and carries on as normal all the way up to the spin cycle. Its not spinning enough to wringe out the clothes they’re still soaked but it does spin....
