Chosen Solution My ear speaker doesn’t work so I took the phone apart and found that the small black wire leading to the ear speaker (next to the red wire) got disconnected from the motherboard. The speaker itself also got disconnected from the wires (the black glue connecting wires to the speaker). Does it mean that i have to order a new one or is that fixable? I posted pictures below....
Chosen Solution I accidentally spilled coffee on my keyboard and I think I managed to save the device by powering down, using compressed air on the keys, dehydrating with rice for 24 hrs etc. The issue is that the keyboard is still sticky and apple quoted me at about $550 just to replace the keyboard. I was wondering whether I could remove the stickiness using isopropyl alcohol. Does anybody know the effect of submerging the body (not the screen) in 99....

Chosen Solution Fan sounds like the wind blowing in a B-rated 60s movie. Starts, stops, whirls, pauses, then starts again, runs for a while, stops for a few minutes, repeat cycle. CPU load doesn’t seem to have any connection to the behaviour. So I replaced the fan and clean installed OSX - with no change. I also tried to monitor the fan and temp using a few of the available apps, and none of them seem to be able to read the RPM - it says 0 although that is clearly wrong....

Take a look at this guide and double check your work. It’s not uncommon to tear the HB flex as it is very fragile and it will tear if it’s forced in any way....

The one I find that does work is a security and tool app called 360 security. It is a 15 Amp fuse and should be marked engine in the fuse box. It also uses a resistor.
