Hi, Does it happen if you have the keyboard disconnected? I’m wondering if it is a touchscreen problem or a touchpad (trackpad) problem. If it occurs only with the keyboard connected, does it occur when you are not touching the keyboard at all? If not perhaps you may be accidentally brushing the trackpad....

Chosen Solution Hi, I replaced the battery of my iPhone 7 which worked fine. But now the homebutton is completely dead. No touch id no button functionality. I already disconnected all 3 screen cables and the home button connector on the screen assembly but no luck. Still not working. Hard reset via power and volumen down button also didnt help. Needless to say I freaked out and went into shock for about 15 mins. Anyway, the only thing that happened besides the cosmetic damage was that the internet was disconnected for a second. Other than that, everything is working just fine....
