Chosen Solution I am doing a chassis replacement for an iPhone 4. The absolute last part I pulled out was the front-facing camera. It had a pesky bracket which had to be removed with considerable force. The bracket popped out and I removed the front-facing camera, but I also noticed a tiny metal part which landed on my desk. I have spent a good fifteen minutes fiddling with it and looking through other iFixit photos trying to see where it fits in the chassis but am pretty lost....

Chosen Solution We recently had a complete power outage which may have caused this problem but the Dell was protected by a Tripp-Lite UPS. The Dell was properly turned off while protected by the UPS and then the UPS was turned off and unplugged. When I have the Dell attached to the UPS the Dell boots into Windows 7 (Prof) but in less than 30 seconds goes into Power Save mode....

Today was replacement day and I thought everything had gone well. But neither the computer nor the Disk Utility on my MacOSX install disk can locate the replacement for formatting, or any other, purposes. One “answer” is that new replacement hard drive from ifixit is also dead, but that is something I admit is a bit hard to get my head around....
Chosen Solution Display started flickering for a few days then went black. External monitor mirrored works fine. I replaced the inverter, which brought the screen back, but only for a few hours. Flickering returned and is black again. Screen briefly returns to life on boot or on wake from sleep, then turns black again. Any help is appreciated! I’d try one more inverter and then take it to Apple and spend the $280 for them to fix it....

When I’m working on it, the entire screen suddenly displays colored fuzz (like the black and white fuzz on an old tv screen when there’s no signal, except it’s also colored). Then after about 30 seconds of doing this the screen goes black and the computer shuts down.
