Chosen Solution I went to my local apple store today to troubleshoot a problem with my hard drive. He said that it had some bad sectors and explained that is why it would not boot. He recommended a replacement of my hard drive and that I hook up the old one to a sled to copy over my files. A brief search of the web shows sleds as just racks. Any idea how a sled is used to connect my old hard drive to use as a secondary drive long enough to just drag and drop the files that I need?...

Chosen Solution When I turn on the computer, the keyboard starts blinking about every 2 or 3 seconds. The screen never lights up. I can turn it off by holding on/off button for 15 or so seconds. But every time I turn it on same thing happens. I have had this same model come into my shop with this same issue. I replaced the BIOS chip. No change. I was able to get it to boot for a second by removing the CMOS battery but It blue screened almost immediately....

Chosen Solution The panel that is directly below where the heating A/C buttons , that you can take off the panel thing and there’s a bunch of wires and stuff behind it. I’m trying to figure out what the wires & panel/section itself is called so I can order it all new because a bunch of the wires are frayed or messed up & some of the connection things too. I’m going to link to a photo of the area I’m talking about....

Hi, If you have them, try using the headphones with the microphone attached and see if people can hear you when you are using that. If so at least it proves that the rest of the phone’s voice sending circuitry is working. The phone microphone is beneath a paper clip size hole at the bottom edge of the phone ....

Chosen Solution Ok my 1st generation iPod with the video & pic feature was working fine. Until one of my kids tried 2 plug the connection cable, then when I tried to connect it nothing happened I looked & the pins were bent in. So how do I disassemble my iPod so I culd straighten it out? Chosen Solution My son’s Ninetendo DS Lite’s hinge broke. When it broke, it also seems to have damaged the wires that were housed in that area. How do I fix the wires so the system can work? Kristy, If the wires are not broken, I believe there is room for you to just use a small amount of electrical tape on each wire. If they are broken you will need some small diameter heat shrink tubing, a heat gun or hair dryer and a soldering iron....

Chosen Solution I mistakingly dropped my split x2 and the touchscreen got a crack, the screen still display fine but the touchscreen is not working. Chosen Solution I dropped my phone, and it finally gave up. The glass is cracked, but it still responds to touch, so I’m assuming the digitizer is okay. I remembered the button placement and mirrored the screen to my Chromecast, so yeah it seems to still be fully responsive when I tried it out (I think). BUT, the display is flickering between light yellow and green and then a very green normal display with all the icons....

Chosen Solution So I dropped my iPhone 5S and shattered the glass. So I tried to remove the screen assembly. Since I don’t have the spare screen yet I closed it again. Since then I don’t see anything at all - no biggy… If I connect the phone to my Mac it still gets recognised. So it should still working properly… Problem though is that every 5 seconds the phone gives a charging indication signal....

Do I need to replace that too, or only the iphone front deksel and lcd display? You can use the one already on it.. Remove the screws and it will come off no problem Yes you need that because it has the brackets on it that attach it to the frame for your screen to hold in place Just take the screws out and it will come off no problem....

Chosen Solution I am going to attempt an iPhone 7 screen repair for the first time later, do I really need a heat gun or can I get away without doing it with a heat gun? Thanks I use a hair dryer. You can open it without one, but separating the screen, front camera flex and home button are much easier with some heat.

Chosen Solution I opened up my computer to determine why it ran so hot, and I noticed that the fans were covered in dust. What is the best way to get it off. If you look closely at the fans you’ll notice that there are 3 three screws and one connector on each fan to undo to remove the fans from the computer. Once the fan is removed just unscrew one little philips screw on the fan to open it and clean the inside with compressed air and isopropyl alcohol (use a Q-tip)....

Chosen Solution This MacbookPro will not start with the on/off key (on keyboard). I can remove the back cover and toggle the logic board start pads and it will start. Does this mean a full keyboard replacement or is there perhaps something else I may check? TIA You may have a bad connector or a bad fitting cable, but unless anything weird happened to the Mac, it’s a bit unlikely. Try to see if a SMC reset takes place when you press the keys combination: left shift+ctrl+alt+power button with magsafe plugged in with Mac turned off....

Chosen Solution Hi everyone, I changed the HDD of my iMac 27 “in mid 2011. After some research I saw that the OWC in-line digital thermal sensor hdd upgrade cable was also needed. I replaced / added the 2 components and turning on the iMac it reaches the login screen and then restarts. Using the Apple Hardware Test I discovered this error: 4MOT / 4/40000002: HDD-0. What is the reason for this error if the HDD and sensor are new ?...

Chosen Solution Hi, I am getting an error message about compatibility issues about the AMD Driver. I am told that I need to reinstall it, but I cannot find a solution anywhere. Please help me find a solution. Laptop OEMs (especially) are known for tweaking chips and drivers. So never be surprised if you get a driver elsewhere that does not work. Best to get it from the computer OEM - not the chip supplier....

I have used the website below to try to decipher the code, but I haven’t been completely successful. https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how… The codes on the link above, seem to apply to macbooks, not iMacs, since there is no upper-case “S” (only lower-case) and the lowercase “s” refers to the trackpad. So, this is what I’ve decoded....
