Chosen Solution Must have happened when I disconnected the old cable, but really didn’t notice anything when it happened. I ordered a new SATA cable and sadly, its socket on the logic board is missing the thin plastic edges which would snap the new cable’s firmly in place. Now it’s completely flat so there’s nothing for the connector end to grip onto. I doubt there is a fix for this, other than get a new logic board or suck it up and get a new/older MBP… It’s a late 2011 15", great machine overall, but not sure if it’s worth it at this point to invest more money into it, after fitting it with a 1 TB SSD and boosting its RAM to 16GB just a few months ago, now this....
