After replacing the battery, it came back to life, with all my music showing and playing when connected to the computer (or with that little charge that the battery initially had). They will then give you a 40% discount on a new one if you send them your old one back. Chosen Solution Struggled for a while now because I can’t find any other way this would work, I’ll attach some pictures to show what I mean, the speaker is meant to fit in the black socket but there is a piece of cable, I assume it is for the sensor blocking the earpiece fitting in, I have tried to manoeuvre it in ways that still work but I can’t find anything that allows room for the speaker to fit in....

Chosen Solution Surface Pro 3 would not start up. Tried all the usual button press combinations and even putting it in the freezer. I did notice the charger LED would sometimes blink whilst holding down the buttons, but nothing on the screen. I suspected the battery, so pulled off the screen with the aid of a heatgun. Unfortunately it reads 8 Volts (versus spec on the label of 7.6V). Label also says the battery is 20 months old....
