Chosen Solution I replaced my optical drive with an SSD. I followed the guide, and all seemed to go well. I moved the temperature sensor onto the new drive. However, a fan (pretty sure it’s the CPU fan) runs on high from startup. I’ve tried the various fan control software to slow it down (iStat Menu, smcFanControl). They make no difference. TechTool Pro passes all tests. When I test the HDD or ODD fan, I hear another fan rev up, while testing the CPU fan modifies the now normal jet engine fan....

Chosen Solution So i have swapped many screen and so lastly put in an ifixit replacement home button and it still doesn’t recognize it. So could the be a part that burnt out when this one was destroyed by unknown forces ? I hate to just use the five finger gesture or digital home button. Which means the on/off button will have to be used to wake it up. Going to give it away as was the purpose of buying it anway but would like to know if there is a fix....

Chosen Solution I am repairing a customer’s iPad 5 (2017) A1823 and no matter what I’ve tried, the home button will not stay snug in the hole even after the back plate is over it. There is a gap and I transferred the original gaskets over, it literally will not stay. I ordered a new back plate and even a new home button to replace this one with, but unortunately if I have to replace the home button to get it to stay snug the customer loses Touch-ID....

Chosen Solution I broke a few keys and I want to take this chance to change my keys in all. So I need help, since I don’t know how to do so. Hi, It will be a lot easier and will cause less problems if you replace the whole keyboard with a new one. Have containers on hand to place the screws in. If you have enough containers it is better if you keep the screws from each section together as you remove them (don’t know about your laptop but in some not all the screws are the same size)....

Since I do not need to go down to the blade level since that should be the only SSD installed in my unit, I suspect I can omit Steps 24-30 and 33-45… In other words only perform those steps necessary to access the HDD area so I can add the new drive, bumper units, and cable. However, since there isn’t an existing SATA cable in the unit, is it obvious where the end plugs into on a board, and if so, do I need to perform some or all of steps 24-30 and 33-45 to access that?...

Chosen Solution All of my apps “move to SD card” are NOT highlighted and downloading new apps do not go to SD card, even though I have selected the preferred install location - SD card. Go to settings>apps>select an app>move to SD card. Sometimes, you do not have the option to move some apps. Hope this helps.

Chosen Solution Hi guys, I have been working on an iPad Mini which is giving me headache. I replaced the digitiser and experienced the screen going absolutely crazy when laid flat on the frame. Got the solution for that by searching here - taping the copper parts on the new digitiser which solved the issue. But then I got a dead spot on the upper left corner instead, approx. 2x2 cm where the digitiser is unresponsive....

Chosen Solution Guys I have got an ipod classic when I press the menu button it doesn’t work sometimes. The thing is I have old logic board lying around. I thought I could desolder them and solder it back to my ipod classics board. There are 4 contact points but I’m not able to find a way to desolder them If any one did desolder them. Chosen Solution I unplugged the battery 3.7v li-ion / 1100 aMh, 4.1 Wh and accidentally detached the female 3 pin connector which was soldered on. Its so tiny that I lost it and I can’t find one anywhere .There are no identifiers to be found nor any schematics that I can find. So if anyone can tell me where I can get it (the female part) I thank you. I’m capable of soldering it on if I can just figure out where it was soldered to....

Chosen Solution Hello, I have a Macbook Air A1466 (EMC2559). This machine had liquid damage from a large Gator Aid. After much manual cleaning I was able to get it to boot but no display. I further found that the fuse F9700 is blown. I also found that the lcd cable and connecter have been severely burned and both must be replaced. Further investigation shows there is a short at C9017....

Chosen Solution I’ve done reflows before with black screens but does this one need a reflow as well? Hook it up to an external monitor and see if it is showing the same anomaly. Was it doing this before installing Mojave? Try doing from an external drive with a lower system like El Capitan. Yes to nonsupport - to eliminate EFI/OS problems you have to stick with CPUs that Apple offered to that logic board… If this Answer is helpful please remember to return and mark it Accepted. It technically works, but it doesn’t seem to have any benefit and you will need a fan solution (like Macs Fan Control)....

Check to see if the end of the hose is stuck way down the stand pipe. If it is, then the hose will need to be pulled out. Only about 6" to 8" should protrude down the stand pipe. Chosen Solution I have a trusty sx40 hs but the pop-up flash stopped working (no flash). I think it can be the flash tube but I cannot find a place where I can purchase a new one. If I maybe have the part number it can make it easier to find. Can anyone help me please. Thank you. I’d be inclined to doubt whether it’s the flash tube itself unless you can see a visible crack in the glass (most likely around one of the electrodes) - there are probably more ways that the driving electronics could fail....
