Trashed a lot of duplicates in the download folder. All of a sudden the finder locked up. It’d been updated to Sierra and just wasn’t having it, it was able to boot into recovery mode no problem but silly me didn’t want to wait for anything to download and had found my windows xp install disk lying around the day before, so I just went with it) into a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009) that I received off a neighbour and went through the entire install process… Then I realised that you can no longer activate winxp, and also that getting drivers would just be too much of a bother....

You can find the port on ebay or amazon but they require soldering skills as this component needs to be soldered to the motherboard. If you have the skills go for it if not find a local shop that does soldering and have it installed

Getting a sharp blade in between the rubber button space and the fabric grill will help you prise it free. Obviously a sharp plastic spudger is better than a sharp kitchen knife to reduce damage, but the point shown in the photo is where the front grill separates from the speaker....
