Chosen Solution I dropped the laptop on a carpeted floor. The screen itself did not crack or shatter, but now only the left hand side of the screen works. It is split right down the middle at the webcam. It still has color. It works fine when I hook it up to an external monitor, and other than that there is only a small crack on the cover-corner where it hit the ground....

Chosen Solution My HP ProBook 4520s fan is really loud and seems to be running a lot. My laptop is warmer than usual too. Its a common sign that your computer might be dusty inside. On top of that, your laptop is about 6 years old now. When your fan starts going crazy, open “Windows Task Manager” (By pressing Ctrl + Shift + ESC key on your keyboard). When “Windows Task Manager” shows up, go to the “Processes” tab, click on “CPU” and take a screenshot using “Snipping Tool”....
Chosen Solution I recently replaced my laptop battery following the guide here on iFixit. Since then, my hinge has been a bit tight, and when shifting the hinge in an open position, it sounds like the plastic is overcoming some initial friction before moving smoothly. Is there some screw that might be affecting this? Or maybe some other problem I haven’t thought of? Not sure how much I want to disassemble the whole thing again....

(see if it just needed a cleaning). when i was done, didn’t just the powerbutton not work, but also my homebutton. i’ve read some answers on other quetions. they told me that i needed to bride two copper things with a screwdriver, but it didnt acivate the button....

Instead of using my Kicker KX to run all 4, am I able to run my KX amp for my ported subs and then run my Kicker IX amp for my sealed subs??? Yes, you can use two amplifiers to get what you want....
Chosen Solution I have bought a replacement power flex cable to replace the faulty one that was in my SE. I need to attach the power button switch on the new flex cable to the power button bracket. I was expecting to just find a sticky blue part I could peel back, and then stick them both together, but this doesn’t appear to be the case. When I detached the power button bracket from the old, faulty flex cable, it was attached by some tiny spot welds or something....

Chosen Solution I randomly lose internet connection, and cannot reconnect. I either get a no network detected warning or a warning that I do not have wi-fi hardware. The problem might be related to a recent upgrade to Lion. Go under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to “about this Mac” > more info > Network > Airport and see if your card is being seen. If not reseat the card, if it still fails, replace the card....

Chosen Solution Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t and sometimes I just need to spam the eject button, I cleaned the optical laser twice. @nytryder26 this is something you want to be really careful with so as not to destroy your drive etc. You will definitely need a multimeter. Do not even think about doing this without the proper tool. I go out on a limb here and think you are trying to adjust your pot’s....
Chosen Solution I was called on to diagnose this dead iMac (21.5 inch, EMC 2389). Owner said she was typing something in Excel, and the whole thing just died. She had the hard drive removed so she could get her data off it. She brings it to me and I remove the LCD. I free up the power supply and all components look OK. I plug it in and LED #1 lights up....
