Chosen Solution I have an iMac 27" i7 late 2009. I just replaced the internal Seagate 1Tb hard disk with a seagate barracuda 3Tb (compatible temperature sensor). Everything is working fine except for a very irritating low frequency hum from the hard disk. I tried already many things like tightening the hard disk screws (it makes the problem worse) and placing the iMac on a soft rubber pad. Is there something I could do to dampen or mitigate the hard disk noise?...

Chosen Solution My headphone jack broke. Is it part of the logic board, or a part connected to the logic board? It broke within the 2 year warranty, will Apple repair it? Yes, Apple will replace the jack under warranty if its still covered. I’m not sure how the newer models have it secured to the case, hopefully the part is secured by a screw. Chosen Solution So one of our employees at my Company dropped their phone in the toilet and told us that it broke by itself. After opening the phone i found water droplets and discovered that both the home button logic board connector and the buttons connector itself had signs of corrosion. I have dried the phone off now and used alcohol to clean off all of the corrosion. The phone is currently Fully functional however the home button is intermittent at best and mostly is unresponsive....

Chosen Solution My home button doesn’t work for no reason What part of the Home Button is not working? The Home Button offers a TouchID function and a “Click”/Return function. If the TouchID is no longer functioning, it is not DIY repairable and requires that Apple replace the Home Button. If the problem is with the “click” function, this is repairable but requires a micro-soldering repair and is also not DIY....

Chosen Solution My iPad mini has horizontal lines that seem to fluctuate toward the bottom half of the screen. Sometimes there is image ghosting when changing pages, and other times it varies from very severe to barely noticeable lines. No water damage or drops, it just started acting up while I was using it in the sun (issue?). I am thinking it’s the LCD or logic board, but it wouldn’t really be worth fixing if the logic board was bad....

Chosen Solution I want to enter my Acer travelmate 240 bios, but i forget the password. On the newer laptops I’ve serviced there is no BIOS reset and pulling the CMOS battery does nothing. I’ve seen some with what looks similar to solder pads labeled as CMOS reset, but they won’t work in most cases. My suggestion, try the password three times, and a dialog box should pop up with a code....

Chosen Solution How do I factory reset my ipod touch without itunes? I don’t have a computer so I can’t reset it using itunes. It’s locked so i forgot my password and I dont remeber my apple I.D. I tried holding the home button and the power button for 10 seconds but that didn’t work. If you don’t remember your AppleID, then there is nothing you can do. If you have your original purchase receipt, then contact Apple (in store or on the phone) and they can probably help you....

Chosen Solution So if I have an iMac12,2 (what the Apple System Profiler says I have) then I’m looking for parts for an iMac12,2. I’m not interested in an EMC number, something I never heard of, where I might get it wrong and that’ll be ‘my’ fault for ordering the wrong part. Or I can get it from elsewhere for less. I’d prefer to get it from iFixIt as a thank you for the excellent guides, but not if I have to play a stupid game....

Chosen Solution The title may not make sense but I have a problem with my little sister’s Nintendo 2DS. Long story short, she took out the SD Card without asking me and put it on the wrong way. Now everytime I place the SD card in, the console thinks that the SD Card is write protected when it’s not since the switch isn’t on lock. I tried other SD Cards and it did the same thing, so I think the SD Card slot is broken....

Chosen Solution My iphone 6s screen went black, but it was cracked very significantly. The digitizer still worked and I knew this because I could still enter my password, and turn on the flashlight of course off of my memory because I could not see the screen. So, I replaced my screen, and of course the screen once again was black yet the digitizer worked perfectly fine. Chosen Solution Hi, I just had the screen replaced on my wife’s iPhone 6. Prior to the replacement everything was working fine and now after the replacement the screen goes black every so often (typically between 1-5 mins). The phone is still functioning and the back light is still coming through. I then need to lock and unlock the phone which the screen comes back on for a while. I have also noticed that the proximity sensor no longer works since the replacement as well....

Chosen Solution I think I read somewhere that Apple has built-in tiny sensors on some of the newer Macbooks that allows them to know if a laptop has had a liquid incident. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? Or is it one of those myths. This kind of design has been going on for decades. There are indicators, but not electronic.
