Customer says that they have taken care of the phone during the entire time they’ve owned it until one day, the earpiece speaker stopped working. And today I look at the old one sitting on my desk and see the EMI foam is still on it. Is this important? What purpose does it really serve. Chosen Solution Same old initial problem, black screen and no response, however I have no diagnostic LEDs. General consensus was to replace the PSU and power cable. After doing this I still have no diagnostic LEDs. (I have since returned the newly order PSU) The logic board would be a logical place to move to next. And that brings me here. Is it possible that the PSU has blown the logic board in some way but still show voltage passing through the power cable, PSU and logic board?...

Apple is evil and is saying that the damage is accidental and not covered under my AppleCare (!) and will cost $850 to repair. Ifixit.com doesn’t seem to address this, and my system is virtually unusable at this time (I can sometimes get it to charge but it’s becoming less and less possible over time). So I guess my real question is, if it works with lets say two service providers that aren’t joint per say (ex. Cricket/AT&T), is it also unlocked to leading providers like T-Mobile and Sprint?
